Real Estate Photography to Showcase Your Home

Whether a prospective buyer is looking for an investment property or their dream home, they will be attracted to warm and inviting interior spaces. That feeling will only come through with high quality professional real estate photography. This includes a home’s exterior, backyard and just about every room.
If a property’s interior photos are dark and blurry your listing could be losing potential customers. If the interior real estate photos are washed-out and poorly lit, they are not very pleasing to potential buyers previewing home online.
Some real estate agents save on expenses by going the do-it-yourself route for pictures of their client’s listing. Today’s digital cameras produce fine high-resolution files. But, they don’t create a finished quality interior or exterior architectural image.
As a Denver real estate photographer, when I photograph a property, I use a 16-35mm wide-angle lens that offers a very natural perspective of an interior space. I then combine the natural available light with on off camera strobe, sometimes bounced off a wall or ceiling. This method creates a well-balanced interior architectural image.
Interiors are tricky because light is usually blasting in from various windows at different angles. If you’re a professional architectural photographer shooting you bring a ton of lighting and possibly spend a few hours setting up one room.
With professional real estate photography, there are several quick and easy techniques that balance and exposure and make any interior look great.

I use a super wide angle lens to give an interior a natural perspective
With a full-frame digital SLR with a super wide lens I usually shoot at f/11 or higher for the sharpest image quality and the corresponding time needed.
Some of the techniques I use while shooting are: fill flash, multiple fill flash, additional interior supplemental off camera lighting (I use the adjustable Paul Buff Einstein 460 strobes).

Techniques I use after image capture: are make a couple of images at different exposures and composite them into one properly balanced image. I sometimes use Photoshop CS6′s high dynamic range feature.
Or, simply schedule and wait for exactly the right time of dusk or dawn light when the outside matches the interior lighting.
Another great real estate photography tool is the 360-degree panoramic image. This image is seamless 360-degree view of an exterior or interior and is viewed in panoramic image viewer that can be added to all realtor listing sites like.
