If you wanted to go to a good old country western style hoedown, than you should have been a guest at Ashton and Max’s wedding. The couple were married at the Red Lion Restaurant, one of most scenic and relaxed wedding venues within minutes of downtown Boulder, in beautiful Boulder Canyon.
The Red Lion Restaurant is a Boulder area landmark offering wedding couples a beautiful outdoor setting for their ceremony and a tented dining room and dance floor for the party. Its a favorite venue for Denver Wedding Photographers.
Ashton and Max kept with tradition and decided not see each other before the ceremony. Ashton and her bridesmaids sipped on champagne and got ready in an upstairs bride’s dressing room. The Max and his groomsmen got donned into formal wear and the groom topped off his tuxedo with a brand new white Stetson.
Even though the clouds were threatening, the rain held off for the ceremony. With the soft breezes blowing through the canyon and all the guests seated, the wedding party walked down the aisle. Then Ashton graced everyone walking down the aisle on the arm of her father. The ceremony was simple and traditional.
The wedding ceremony site is nestled within the walls of Boulder Canyon. It was a great setting for wedding photography as well. The property offers many fantastic photographic opportunities around the Red Lion for a bride, a groom, and their wedding party.
I was able to capture some pictures of the entire wedding party after the ceremony and a large group photo of everyone that attended the wedding on the grassy area in front of the wedding tent.
Below are some wedding photographs that I took of Ashton and Max along Boulder Creek on the grounds of the Red Lion.
The couple and their guests moved to the wedding tent for their reception. There were toasts from Ashton and Maxs parents along with the best man, maid of honor and some fun poked at the couple from family and friends.
After cutting the cowgirl and cowboy topped cake, it was time to get down, country western style, with music provided by DJ Chris King. Ashton slipped into her yellow sneakers and she hit the dance floor with Max and her friends.
Ashton and Max made sure that all their quests had a good time.
As a Colorado wedding photographer, it’s a pleasure to travel to venues like the Red Lion Restaurant in Boulder Canyon.
