Monica and Joel chose Cielo at Castle Pines for their Sunday December wedding.
Cielo is a unique venue in Castle Pines Village.
Cielo is a slice of a tranquility surrounded by majestic pines, stone walls, and a water feature that captures the elegant beauty of Colorado. Cielo was voted Best Venue South of Denver by Colorado Meetings and Events Magazines Best of Awards for 2011.
With the help of Cielos Director Roz Schroeder, who coordinated Monica and Joels wedding day from start to finish, the main ballroom was transformed into spectacular wedding ceremony site making it a great canvas for beautiful winter Colorado wedding photography.
My experience as a professional wedding photographer told me I had to set up 2 studio lights inside behind the back row of chairs to compensate for the indoor and very backlit ceremony. This technique created a very natural balance highlighting the ceremony against the outdoors. The spacious interior was more than enough room for all the guests and the sliding glass doors were partially open to bring some of the warm December air and sunshine.

Monica and her bridesmaids got ready in the beautifully appointed brides room. Mike and his groomsman made use of a downstairs grooms room to change into their formal attire.

With all their family and guests seated, the ceremony began. The wedding ceremony was classy with Monicas parents giving her away. Monica and Joels love for each other, their family and friends was evident throughout the ceremony. There were many emotional moments.

I posed Monica and Joel with their families and friends for the group formals after the ceremony. I then used the spectacular outdoor fountain as the background setting for beautiful Colorado wedding photography and some fun pictures of the bridal party.

It was a perfect December afternoon
After the wedding party was announced, Monica and Joel made their special entrance to their reception descending Cielos dramatic staircase alongside the beautiful Christmas tree.

Guests enjoyed the gracious ambiance and fine food from the kitchens of The Food Guy in Cielos beautiful open ballroom. There were toasts from the best man, maid of honor and Joels father. Monica and Joel cut their wedding cake and a DJs Steve and Shon of Silver Moon Celebrations selected just the perfect music for the couples first dance.
There was time for everyone to join in on the dancing before wishing Monica and Joel off in a cascade of bubbles and their Caribbean honeymoon.
