Advice on Choosing the Right Wedding Photographer

They say every little girl dreams of her wedding.  They imagine the dress, the cake, the location, the man…the photographer?  Ok, so while we may have dreamed of having a picture perfect wedding, we probably didnt consider the one who would be capturing those picture perfect moments.

As a result, when we are arranging the details in pursuit of that epic day, we often underestimate the importance of photography.  For many the cost of professional photography seems daunting.  But, before you rely on your second cousins alleged skill with a camera, here are a couple questions to consider.

1.    How do you want to remember your once in a lifetime moment?  Professional photographers can offer an accuracy and eye that the rest of us dont have.  With a professional photographer, your precious memories wont be blurred or botched.

2.    Who is the most important person that day?  Do you want your photographer missing (or potentially ruining) your big day?  A professional can get the shots they need without interfering in your magical moment.

So, if you decide professional photography is the way to go, how do you go about choosing the right photographer to capture your wedding?

Consider style:  You have a style all your own.  You want a photographer that will complement and capture that.

Consider personality:  Weddings can be exciting and stressful.  Be sure to find a photographer that you can get along with.  You dont want to have clash or conflict ruin your moment.

Consider services:  Wedding photography ranges vastly in the services provided or the services included in the price.  Be sure to find out beforehand if albums, proofs, DVDs, etc. are included in the package price.

Consider price: Be sure to give yourself a reasonable budget for photography.  Most brides under budget when it comes to this particular wedding cost.
